Wexford Welcomes the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra

HHSOThis past weekend Wexford hosted a very special Tuscan Symphony Dinner Under the Stars- featuring live music from a violinist, pianist and conductor from the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra!  Perfect weather and a picturesque harbour backdrop set the stage for what was a most memorable evening.

Executive Chef Frank Copeland and his culinary team enhanced the experience by showcasing a classic Italian menu that included passed hors d’ oeuvres, followed by a seated family-style dinner with Artisanal Pasta, Chicken Scaloppini and Grilled Heritage Pork Marsala with accoutrements, and topped off with shared plates of Biscotti, Chocolate Panna Cotta and Arborio Rice Pudding with Orange and Mint.

According to one Wexford member, “Without a doubt, last evening was one of the best events we have attended in our almost 15 years as Wexford residents. Jennifer and her staff did an outstanding job. The food prepared by Frank and his staff was incredible. Having the pianist, violinist and the conductor from the symphony made it a magical evening. We are looking for an encore of this event. We truly felt we had been transported to an elegant terrace in Tuscany. It was an evening that you did not want to see come to an end.  Bravo!”

It was truly a buona notte!

Wexford Yacht Club Offers an Unforgettable Experience to the Local Boys & Girls Club

BGC-HHI-Logo-147x100Yesterday (Wednesday, July 8), the Wexford Yacht Club hosted a group of 30 children, ages 6-9, from the Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island for a boat outing and lunch.  Ten Wexford members took six of their boats out and traveled with the children and chaperones outside of the Wexford Harbour, past Harbour Town and Daufuskie Island.  Following the hour and a half boat excursion, the children and chaperones returned to the Wexford Clubhouse for lunch.

The event was coordinated by Wexford Yacht Club Commodore, Bill Haverland, and the Boys & Girls Club in order to give the children an opportunity to see and experience the Lowcountry from a different view.

Commodore Haverland stated One of the little girls said this had been the ‘best day of her life,’ and after speaking with the other Wexford Yacht Club members, we can all agree that it was probably one of the best days of our lives as well!”

Boys & Girls Club Assistant Unit Director Brooke Newsom stated, “One of the primary goals of the Club is to work with local organizations and groups to provide opportunities that they will never forget. We are thrilled to have been able to work with Wexford Yacht Club to provide our members with this ‘wow’ experience! The Boys & Girls Club provides afterschool programs and summer day camps for over 750 members each year. The mission of the Boys & Girls Club is to ‘enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.’ “abcdeghi
