Wexford Blog Returns… with a SPLASH!

There are so many wonderful things happening at Wexford, we’ve decided to bring back the blog to share it all! Check back for weekly updates and articles about all things Wexford.

Up first, the new SPLASH POOL that opened this summer for members and the guests. It sure has been…. yep, you guessed it… a big SPLASH! It is located on the lower deck of the Clubhouse property and incorporates several water features, including beach-style entry and a twelve foot palm tree with coconuts dropping water.

The Oasis Pool was renovated with travertine decks and brand new furniture. It’s a great spot for exercising and swimming too. Both pools are served by the renovated Pool Bar and staff.

Mixing It Up Behind the Bar

Guest Bartender 8.26.16 (2)Last Friday we hosted our ever-popular Guest Bartender Night.  We first introduced Guest Bartender last year- and it was a hit!  It’s an evening in which we invite two brave Wexford members to hop behind the bar (with support from our knowledgeable bar backs!) and serve their neighbors and friends, with all tips going to a good cause. Interested members throw their hat into the ring and their names are selected at random.

This time Cindy Creamer and Josh Johnson were the two lucky members selected!  They chose the theme, Yacht Rock, and the specialty drinks, Smooth Operator and Lido Cosmo.  Everyone had a blast – patrons and bartenders alike!

Tips from this Guest Bartender Night went towards a fund for one of our longtime (over 27 years!!), dedicated employees who’s been with forced to go out on permanent disability to due severe foot problems.

Wexford Garden

In honor of Earth Day, we’re taking a moment to recognize and celebrate our Wexford Garden!

Many members don’t realize it – but this is the 11th year Chef Frank and his Culinary Team have planted the Wexford Garden, located outside of the Clubhouse (near the pool).  Chef is currently growing herbs, as well as six varieties of tomatoes (!!), which they’ll begin to use in the kitchen in late May/early June. Hint: You’ll find them in our featured salad specials! 😉

According to Chef, “The garden and fresh produce is an inspiration to cooking in every way!”
